We never charge and adoption fee! Our only requirement is that our Canines end up in a perfectly loving home.
The Rescue takes our adoption process very seriously. Our Goldens come from various environments including shelters, a result of family trauma or losses, abuse, found astray, injured, voluntarily surrendered, found roaming free by local authorities, and sometimes with nobody willing to claim them. We have a strict adoption process that ensures our Rescues are going to well-suited, loving homes.
1. A general application. There is no fee to adopt a Golden from our Organization as long as the applicant is favorable, and is unanimously voted upon by our Board of Directors.
2. A home visit. A Member of our Board will make every attempt to visit your home to ensure that the environment is suited for the Golden who will be placed. We look for such things as nearby hazards, roadways, railways, fenced in yards, where the canine will spend most of his/her time, and other factors. Please note, these are not disqualifying factors for a Golden to find a Forever Home. We take the whole picture into account when determining appropriate placement.
3. A consultation with the Family's Veterinarian if there were prior animals in the home.
4. We may request a background check, or conduct a public occupant search for the address you provide to look for any past charges of animal abuse. If there is anyone in the home with a history of animal abuse, adoption will be denied.
5. The adoption application includes a clause you will sign that states if any Golden is suspect of abuse (does not have to be proven) after leaving our Rescue, you forfeit your right to keep the Canine. A Member of the Rescue Team and a uniformed Peace Officer will retrieve the Canine. THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE.
Our number one priority is the health and safety of the Golden Retriever we rescue. We treat each of our Goldens as if they are our own.
We encourage all potential adoptive Families to fill out the application below and return it to us so we have it on file.
