Search & Rescue

With few breed specific Rescues in Western NY, The Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwestern New York, Inc. was formed in 2012. During our time in operation, the Group gained National recognition through a network of Volunteers, Rescues, Municipalities, Shelters, and Individuals. Within minutes, we can mobilize a Rescue within one of our service areas.

​Foster

We provide a thorough assessment of our Foster Families, and support them throughout the Foster period. All aspects of care are provided by the Rescue and our affiliates. Rescued Canines and Families are never alone. We assist with care far beyond the adoption. We pride ourselves in never letting our Forever Families feel alone.

Family Support

With all the joy that comes with being a Golden Family, there are also times you'll experience trials and tribulations. When you don't know where to turn, we're there! Services we will assist you with include finding a behavioral specialist, assistance with animals that have chronic or acute illness, transportation, nutrition counseling, and even end of life care. In the event the dreaded day comes that your furry family member must cross the Rainbow Bridge, we will on request accompany you and your Family during this difficult time. Our caring Team is dedicated to all aspects of the life of a Golden. The only request we deny is one that isn't asked.

Emergencies

We are very fortunate to have a great working relationship with Emergency Services, Police, Fire, Ambulance, and Animal Control Officials who can contact us directly to request aid any time of the day. Our skilled Team Members can be dispatched to provide oxygen, basic first-aid, and safe transport to an appropriate Veterinary Hospital with you and your Family. We have proudly provided Fire Departments across the Nation with Canine Oxygen equipment, which is essential when seconds count. 

Referrals 

There are requests that sometimes require advanced planning, or input from other Animal Professionals.
We're proud to work with Law Enforcement for the arrest and prosecution for animal cruelty, "puppy mill" busts, bait dog rescue, as well as other unique situations. Please feel free to report an animal cruelty issue to us in confidence at any time. We have multiple State Certified Animal Control Officers who preside on our Board of Directors.
